The Etheric Sculptor

We initially intended to write this as a Patreon-exclusive post, however, we have decided to rather make this a public post instead, since there is so much misinformation and misconceptions involved in the subject of Thoughtforms, Egregores, Servitors etc (so much so, that it is almost nightmarish for us to deal with), so we believe that making it freely accessible ought to, at the very least, shed some light on the matter at hand and make our job ever-so-slightly easier when discussing the matter. An excellent blog post to refer people to.

First things first: what is a Thoughtform and why do we refer to them by many other names/terms as well?

Thoughtforms, which we also refer to as Mental Constructs, Constructs, Servitors, Egregores etc is something that you create to serve a particular purpose or purposes. This differs greatly from external Entities, as Thoughtforms are created and thus do not merely exist naturally or “by themselves” as general Spirits (who were once alive).

In short, Thoughtforms can be created accidentally/subconsciously by an individual or group of people (which is not preferred at all) or they can be created consciously (which is preferred).

Apart from their creation or mode of existence, so to speak…there is nothing much different between Thoughtforms and external, self-aware Entities – they are of spiritual construct, they are able to perform tasks or influence things or situations, they feed off of energy, they can be (or become) almost godly in power, they can be communicated with etc etc etc.

So, you can call Thoughtforms “created Entities” if you wish, because that is exactly what they are.

Thoughtforms can be simple in construct or more advanced. The simplest of Thoughtforms have no particular form or shape, and tend to have one “purpose”. These “simple” Thoughtforms, can become rather powerful, regardless of their “simple” construct and purpose. They can be interacted with, or just be ambient.

The more advanced Thoughtforms can become almost indistinguishable from external Entities: they can have specific forms, personalities, a whole set of purposes, likes and dislikes etc…so that you can be excused if you mistake a powerful and advanced Thoughtform for an actual Spirit, Entity or even Deity. As if they were born and not created. These advanced Thoughtforms can even have free will and self-awareness, depending on a few factors, and can be made to exist and act independently from their creator/creators.

In fact, many Spirits, Entities and Deities are, in fact, advanced Thoughtforms and not “actual” Spirits or Deities.

Most people think that the idea of Thoughtforms originated through/with the practice of Chaos Magick, however, that is not true. Many ancient cultures and systems such as the Egyptians, Tibetans, Sumerians and others created and made use of Thoughtforms…so Thoughtforms are nothing “new” or contemporary…the Chaos Mages simply brought it back into the “mainstream”.

When properly created, you will not find any Entity or Spirit more loyal, devoted and dedicated than a Thoughtform.

But…

The problem with Thoughtforms is this: most people create them either accidentally/subconsciously (mostly due to a massive lack of self-control) or without fully understanding or realizing what they are actually doing. Dabbling with something they do not fully understand even in the least. We do not just find this bothersome…but extremely tragic. Tragic beyond compare.

To illustrate this, we will refer to a well-known story which we believe everyone knows across the world: the story of Frankenstein (The Modern Prometheus) presented by Mary Shelley. We will make special note of the depiction of Doctor Frankenstein in the popular TV series “Penny Dreadful” which we believe serves as a most excellent example of this situation.

Just as Doctor Frankenstein created his “creature” without fully being prepared, or fully aware of all things involved and thus end up creating something hated and despised even by him as its creator…such is the fate of most Thoughtforms.

Imagine this: you are brought into existence, and you look to your “creator”, your “god”, your “parent”…who brought you into existence and who is supposed to guide and shape you…yet you find that you were created as an accident, or that your “creator” knows absolutely nothing and is not even worth being called a “creator”.

This.

This is why we pity Thoughtforms greatly. Some of them remain empty shells, accidents…half-formed abortions. Others become hateful and malicious, destructive. This might sound like nothing to you…but this is fucking heartbreaking.

Here is the lesson: do not decide to create a Thoughtform simply “on a whim” because you just read a lil’ ol’ book on them. No. Creating a Thoughtform is not a matter to be approached half-assed or on a whim. Creating a Thoughtform is essentially creating life, and as such, you must make damn sure you know what you are doing and that you will see it through.

This also brings us to the “accidental Thoughtforms”. Thoughtforms created “accidentally” or subconsciously should be reabsorbed by their creators as soon as you become aware of their existence. Having them exist as they are, as “accidents” is cruel…and quite frankly, this one of the very few things we will refer to as “evil”. Take responsibility.

Now you, hopefully, know a bit more about Thoughtforms and that it is not something to be approached or taken lightly.

What kind of creator god will you be?

You guys never stop amazing me, the great magicians of old. I have created 3 thought forms due to lack of self control. I can still recall them in my mind and even their appearance. Theyre extremely malefic in nature and that was very irresponsible. However I have suffered the consequences of doing that. Since my mistake I created another one and even named him: Mega-tron-el. I did it with my wife's help and gave him a lot of things, families, power, abilities, even a wife. It took us several hours to craft him, his backstory. Ever since I met you my life has changed for the better, you have opened my eyes, with your help I've been able to…
